Brush and Faux Calligraphy with Kiah Bailey April 27th
April 27th, 10:30am – 12:30pm
Kiah is a calligrapher in Oklahoma City who has been painting custom pieces for weddings, events, and gifts for the last 5 years! She is self taught and specializes in brush calligraphy and sign painting – and she is excited to share her love of calligraphy, and all the tips and tricks she has learned, with others!
Join us for a beginner’s workshop where you will learn all the basics of brush calligraphy. This class is meant for someone with little to no experience who is interested in learning the art of brush and faux calligraphy – if you can write, you can do calligraphy! You will learn the a, b, c’s (literally) of calligraphy as we discuss how to hold your pen, correct technique, practice on provided alphabet pages, and develop skills that will help you create small and large scale pieces of your own! We will practice common words used for signage, tips on how to lay out your own pieces, and how to achieve the perfect brush and faux calligraphy look. You will leave with your own practice sheets, sample alphabet, and your very own brush set to continue practicing and developing your craft!
Workshop will include:
2 hours of instruction from Kiah
3 brush calligraphy pens
Instructional Alphabet Sheet
